7 Categories of Healthy Gifts to Give for Christmas

Do you agree that choosing holiday gifts, especially for people that are either hard to buy for or who ‘already have everything’ can be a BIG task? It can be a struggle for me.

This is something I have been doing for awhile and I believe the people receiving the gift appreciate the thoughtfulness and like using the gifts.

There are all kinds of health and wellness products you can give as gifts for Christmas this year. We can’t cover them all in one article but have 7 categories of gift ideas to consider.

And we have specific gift ideas from the brand we have used for over 42 years. I love sharing how I use those products because they make the best gifts – to yourself or whoever is on your list. The uniqueness and efficacy that sets this brand apart means you don’t have to hesitate for a second wondering if the quality is awesome for your gift.

In a world that often feels busy and overwhelming, a gift centered on wellness can feel like a breath of fresh air—an invitation to slow down, reflect, and prioritize health.

Such gifts can provide moments of peace, relief from stress, or new habits that become a permanent part of a healthier, happier life.

In recent years, wellness trends and natural health have surged in popularity, driven by a growing awareness of the importance of self-care and balanced living.

From mindfulness practices and yoga to clean skincare and plant-based nutrition, these trends reflect a desire to lead healthier, more intentional lives.

From herbal teas that soothe the mind to eco-friendly skincare that nourishes the body, a wellness gift aligns with these popular trends and provides real, tangible benefits.

These gifts acknowledge the value of wellness and encourage loved ones to prioritize themselves.

A note to the giver: think about gifting yourself an early healthy product that might help you during the busy holiday rush.

Unlike traditional gifts that may eventually be set aside, wellness-related items have the potential to become part of a daily routine, helping loved ones feel their best long after the holidays have passed.

This holiday season, tapping into the wellness movement through thoughtful, health-inspired gifts is a meaningful way to contribute to the health, peace, and joy of those we care about most.

Let’s explore some gift giving that can help inspire a healthy start to the new year.

Such gifts reflect a desire not just to give a physical item, but to promote well-being year round.

  • Aromatherapy Diffusers and Essential Oils
These will make the top of a list when you look for healthy gifts, however I do not use them now. I have tried both but I guess did not experience a result that had me wanting to use every day. This is a good example of doing what works for you! I would recommend getting a good-quality diffuser and therapeutic-grade essential oils like lavender, eucalyptus, and chamomile if you choose this idea. Many people feel that they help create a calming environment when you need to unwind.
  • Weighted Blankets and Eye Masks
I have never used a weighted blanket but have heard positive reviews and they are proven to reduce anxiety and improve sleep quality. A couple of my grandbabies have used the weighted sleep sacks. My 10 year old granddaughter sleeps every night with an eye mask that is known to help enhance relaxation and promote better sleep. I have to check with my other granddaughter who got one for her birthday if she has been using it.
  • Natural Stress Relief Supplements
You may not have thought about giving a supplement as a gift, but when you consider helping someone who struggles with stress and anxiety make a measurable difference in their daily life, it can be a Win-Win. I personally use both Stress Relief Complex if you like a tablet and Cheer Up and Chill Out for gummy lovers. I like them as a calming effect since I have a really busy schedule and can get stressed with it. You can use them both as needed and even one of each daily. I just like the idea of something completely natural for stress relief. The other thing I love about gifting stress relief is that these products are healthy nutrients that have other health benefits (not side effects).
  • Organic Teas and Herbal Blends
I personally have a cold tea every.single.afternoon. It is part of my caffeine for the day but it also is a great source of antioxidants and . I only use one brand and that is the Shaklee brand. They have 4 different flavors and my favorite is Peach. I look forward to my Peach iced tea every day and feel good knowing that it is a healthy drink with almost no sugar that still tastes wonderful. People who consume liquid calories on a daily basis can make a huge difference by swapping out that sugar and other unhealthy ingredients for something like this. What an amazing gift idea!
  • Shakes and Smoothies
Awe protein shakes! I know there is the group of people that is adverse to having a shake every day, but then there is a large group that faithfully drinks a protein shake. When you discover the benefits protein, and especially high quality sources, can provide to your body, it is very eye-opening. Now there are superfoods, smoothie mixes and what I use daily is a protein powder with all of the nutrition of a full meal inside as well as prebiotics and I add some collagen to my Life Shake. I drink it for health, energy, vitality, immunity and some detox.
  • Healthy Snack Baskets
You can purchase a ready made healthy snack basket or curate your own basket with organic, nutrient-rich snacks like dark chocolate, nuts, dried fruits, and natural protein bars. Snacking is another good health thief (that’s a personal term haha). I like to snack as much as anyone but with multiple snacking opportunities every day, we need to make some of those healthy so that we not only can maintain a healthy weight but also spare our body of non-nutrition food.
  • Yoga Mats and Accessories
Do you know someone who might want to start doing yoga or needs a new mat? A good yoga mat, along with props like blocks or straps, are great for taking to a class or for home workouts.
  • Resistance Bands or Compact Workout Equipment
The home exercise market is huge and there are lots of smaller size equipment pieces that make great and affordable gifts. Resistance bands, jump ropes, or small weights are versatile and easy to store, and suitable for different fitness levels.
  • Massage Tools
Who doesn’t love a massage? Better yet a tool that can keep giving throughout the year. Choices include massage guns, foam rollers, or even acupressure mats that can provide muscle recovery, pain relief, or relaxation.

  • Organic Skincare Sets
Skin care brands and products have exploded. I have used Shaklee for over 40 years and while you can explore many other options, this is the brand I like to talk about here on AntiAgingByDesign.com. Shaklee Youth and Pomifera (now owned by Shaklee) products are unique, have clean ingredients and clinically tested results. Whether you have young skin or aging skin there are products that are not only fabulous quality but feel so wonderful.
  • Bath and Body Care Gift Sets
Shaklee also offers personal care products such as body cleansers, body scrubs, lotions and more where you can provide a spa-like experience at home for whoever you are buying a gift.
  • Eco-Friendly Body Brushes and Scrubs
I wrote about dry brushes awhile back and love having one both for the great feeling you get using them and the health benefits associated – such as the ability to stimulate circulation and provide gentle exfoliation for soft skin.

  • Journals for Wellness and Gratitude
A new year means new habits and one for many people is to write in a journal or gratitude book. There are all different types associated with health or wellness, gratitude, and multiple kinds that help support mindfulness practices.
  • Meditation Apps or Guided Program Subscriptions
If you prefer access on your phone there are lots of apps to choose from and gift cards that can help. Wouldn’t it feel really good to give your loved one access to meditation and mindfulness practices if it helps them reduce stress, improve their happiness and focus.
  • Mindfulness Coloring Books and Art Supplies
I have a friend who loves to color cards and mail them out to friends and family. On the recipient end it feels good to have something created with love and thoughtfulness. Maybe whoever you are buying for would enjoy having a coloring book and supplies to enjoy a fun, relaxing activity while unwinding from a busy schedule or because they are more stationery and looking for purpose and ideas to spend their time.
  • There is a book that is #1 on my list to purchase for myself this year and it would be considered in the Holistic Health and Self-Care Book category. It is called Good Energy and the author is Dr. Casey Means. She is helping to get the word out in the Make America Healthy Again program and I fully support this endeavor.
Other wellness books can include natural health remedies, exercise or fitness, herbal healing, or stress management, and many more. The opportunity to empower the person you are buying for with the knowledge to make healthier choices is exceptional right now.
  • Cookbooks for Healthy Eating
We can’t leave out cookbooks. They have always been a great gift to give and new recipes are always being searched. In the spirit of health and wellness there are books featuring plant-based meals, immune-boosting recipes, or what I am most interested in right now: simple, whole-food meals because I want to eat healthy but seem to have less time to cook.

  • Monthly Wellness Boxes
This is a popular gift category with some people but I have not really explored it or given it as a gift. I do have my own healthy supplements, personal skin care, and non-toxic home cleaning products on monthly autoship. This is an excellent gift choice with the Shaklee brand and each month the order can be modified to fit the needs of the month (the cleaning products last so long you don’t need those every month or some of them even every quarter. Plus the monthly wellness box can be cancelled at any time. Can you imagine taking care of a wellness product for somebody for an entire year? They sure would be excited!
  • Healthy Snack Subscriptions
This is another subscription I do with Shaklee. I have one of the peanut butter snack bars with 10 grams of protein every morning with my coffee. Starting the day with protein feels GOOD. I also keep the other flavor snack bars on hand if I am out of the house at snack time and have one of those 4 or 5 times a week. I don’t know of a healthier snack with 10 more grams of protein. There are also the Meal Bars which may be considered a snack for some people but with 20 grams of protein and the other nutrients you would get in a meal, these are a meal on the road, at a sports event or if I don’t want to cook. Busy lifestyles don’t have to mean unhealthy snacks!

Choosing wellness and natural health gifts is about more than just giving a present; it’s about showing care and intention toward the health and happiness of those we love.

In a world that can often feel fast-paced and demanding, these gifts serve as gentle reminders to slow down, focus on well-being, and take moments for self-care.

When we give a gift that promotes wellness, we’re giving more than just an object; we’re offering an experience that can nourish, inspire, and create lasting positive changes.

This holiday season, let’s embrace the spirit of giving by choosing presents that uplift, nurture, and support long-term wellness.

By giving the gift of health, we’re offering something truly lasting—a gift that keeps on giving well beyond the holiday season and into the new year.

I hope you enjoy shopping this year and have the best Christmas with family and friends. It comes and goes so fast! Wishing you a happy, healthy, energized 2025.
