Why Am I Always Tired?
Did you know that feeling tired all the time, constant fatigue, and lack of energy are some of the most common complaints women give to their doctors. We push ourselves and fill our schedules to overflowing so it’s no wonder we can feel tired every day. If you struggle to keep your energy levels up, there’s a lot you can do to target a more energetic you.
Read on if you want help balancing work, children, family, household chores, kid’s and family activities, helping your own parents, and many other responsibilites; and you usually put yourself last after all of these. It’s what you call a recipe for feeling tired, for fatigue.
You may not be eating right. You may not be sleeping right. You may feel stressed all the time. You may feel irritated. Your immune system may even be worn down. Now that the problems are out there, let’s look at some solutions.
6 Ways to Beat Fatigue
1. Watch Caffeine
You may thing that cup after cup of coffee is helping you stay awake or stay alert, but stimulants like caffeine are not always the answer and can actually lead to more fatigue in the future. Plus it is only a temporary fix. There are better ways to boost your energy such as #2 and #3 below.
Not only is exercise a great way to manage stress, it can boost your energy naturally. I know, I know, you are thinking, “But I don’t have time for exercise.” The answer is to start small. Carve some amount of time, even if it is only 5 minutes doing some kind of exercise right in your living room or bedroom. There are all kinds of short cardio exercises you can find on youtube where you don’t need equipment. Once you start feeling the benefits you can scale up to more time each day.
Another area women slack on for themselves is sleep. You are up late catching up on things at home, or trying to keep up with daily responsibilities. You make sure the rest of the family gets rest and then you cheat yourself out of enough hours of shut eye every night. Getting a good night’s sleep is one of the very best things you can do for yourself that can help fight fatigue for the long term. Find a way to relax at the end of the day to help promote restful sleep.
4. Eat Healthy
It’s easy today, since we have such busy, fast-paced, schedules to eat on the run which usually means eating unhealthy. Food is your body’s fuel and good in means good out. Feed your body foods that help you be healthy and you will get energy and better health on the other end. If you avoid too much sugar, too many carbs and calories, and don’t skip meals, your energy levels should naturally increase.
5. You Time
We all need alone time, or blocks of time where we are choosing what to do for ourselves. Maybe you want to catch up with a friend by going out to dinner or going for a walk. How about a massage that can feel relaxing and rejuvenating at the same time. Taking time to read a book can feel like a luxury. Whatever it is that will put you in a happy place should be a routine in your schedule, either daily or at least weekly.
One of our favorite things to do to stay healthy and stay energized is to take whole-food, all-natural, supplements that help us build and enjoy better health. It starts with a multivitamin and then other targeted nutrition that you choose for your personal health. A couple nutrients that women are deficient in are b vitamins, magnesium and iron. Many Americans are also low in vitamin D.
